After
speaking with the high schoolers in Marietta last week, I was amazed at how
beautiful the school was and how well behaved the students were! I had classes
of freshman and juniors and the class was called AVID, Advancement Via
Individual Determination. AVID is a college readiness course and is an
incredible opportunity for students looking to grow. I was able to tell them a
brief bit about my car crash and my hope for them to pursue college. They had
great questions for me and some even came to speak to me afterwards. You can do
anything you set your mind to. Don’t make excuses and keep on striving towards
your dream! I could sense the students starting to realize this as I told my
story.
