Walking and Talking

I have noticed talking and walking is difficult for me.  I will first discuss talking. We first begin with an idea. Then our brain sends a message to the muscles in our mouth to make the sound as fluent and clear as possible. Sometimes what you mean to say does not quite come out the way you would like.
Next I will talk about walking. There are many different types of walking abnormalities. They can be due to diseases or injuries in the brain, spinal cord, legs or feet. To be able to walk you have to use an assortment of muscles at different times.
Combining them both together is very hard. There is an array of muscles from head to foot that must be used. In order to talk, I like to stop walking. This is not very practical. So, I have to work on it!

On-line classes vs. traditional

It’s a very important decision on whether to do on-line classes or traditional classes because every student learns differently!
One of the big benefits in choosing on-line classes is flexibility. You can do class in you PJ’s or at 2 am! You can make it work to fit your schedule, instead of being required to attend a lecture on a specific day and time.

I did both on-line classes and traditional classes, but I liked traditional classes better. I enjoyed being able to ask the professor direct questions. I also enjoyed having school in my schedule just knowing that Tuesday and Thursday at 2 I had history. However, some students have too busy of a schedule and need on-line. It just depends on your needs!

McMahon's Shoes

Are you in desperate need of a new pair of shoes that can be used for work, comfort or running? If so, have you found it’s been hard to find a pair that fits due to an injury or a disability from birth? Worry no more! There are specialty shoe shops out there like McMahon’s Shoes on North Decatur Road. All you have to do is get your physician to write a prescription for you, so they will know the exact measurements. Then you can get your shoes! I have been going there for years and since my right leg is a tiny bit shorter than my left, due to spasticity, I get my shoe elevated. However, McMahon’s provide much more than that. If you’re feeling apprehensive about the appearance of the shoes, fear not! McMahons offers you shoes that are very well made and look great! They even have their own cobbler that can adjust your shoes while you are waiting. You can shop around some, but I have found that McMahons fits all my shoe needs.
