SouthEast

So before I started using the unreasonably late Marta Mobility, I had to use this organization called SouthEast Transportation. It was through Medicaid and I’m about to explain how it worked. SouthEast Trans had several driving companies that they used to distribute the rides to.
I’ve already talked to you about my issues with driving, but I wanted to talk to you about a very important item that could make or break my day. The dreaded fax. The night before Southeast Trans would send out the faxes to the different companies in order to inform them who to pick up. So I used to hope and pray that they would send the fax over to North Fulton Transportation to come and pick me up. Unfortunately, it was done very late notice and I had to decide last minute if I wanted to ride with whoever they sent the fax to.
I’m about fed up with both Marta and Southeast. I’m just sick and tired of waiting.

Meeting

Several years ago, during my initial time in Beyond Therapy at Shepherd Center, the therapists surprised me with a meeting. Now meetings are usually bad. The therapists will probably tell you that you’ve plateaued, or stopped making progress. A billion thoughts were going through my head. One was we had this kind family member that gave me money, which was placed in a trust fund. I knew that the  money was supposed to be spent on therapy and I did not want to give it back to her.  I also thought that maybe I can do therapy by myself, I knew their specific cues and I walk enough I can do it by myself!
I have been doing physical therapy for 8 years and it still is beneficial.  I hope this will not always be the case. Turns out the meeting was about their need for me to participate in therapy more regularly in order to make a difference. I breathed a sigh of relief!

Uber

Uber is denying service to all people who utilize a wheelchair and who need guide dogs. This is so unfair and cruel. There are many lawsuits from California to Texas against them.  They even stuffed someone’s guide dog in the trunk! Other riders even complained about being left on the curb because their wheelchair could not fit in the car!
With all the lawsuits that Uber has received, you would assume that Uber would give up. Uber just says that they can transport anyone in a wheelchair or someone with a guide dog. They have proved that this statement is untrue.
Although I walk on a cane, it still worries me about how trustworthy and sympathetic the drivers would be. I would be scared to enter the car itself. Once I did I would be scared of any sharp turns.
